Tousen, now sighted, defeats Komamura with a cero but is stabbed by Hisagi, who claims he could have dodged if blind. Hisagi releases his zanpakutou, slicing Tousen’s neck and dispelling his hollowfied form. Meanwhile, Hirako activates his shikai, creating visual illusions known as the inverted world, and gains the upper hand against Aizen. However, Aizen, having previously manipulated Hirako’s senses, slices his back, asserting his zanpakutou’s superiority. The defeated Tousen regains consciousness and asks to see Hisagi’s face clearly one last time before an internal impact destroys his body. Hisagi is devastated, while Komamura rages at Aizen for intentionally killing Tousen. At this moment, Ichigo appears behind Aizen, preparing to launch an attack.
