Flashbacks show Komamura and Tousen’s friendship, revealing Komamura joined the Shinigami to repay a debt. In the present, their battle intensifies as Tousen discovers he can harm Komamura when his Bankai is damaged. Komamura learns Tousen became a Shinigami to avenge a murdered female friend, driving his relentless pursuit of justice. Tousen then releases his Zanpakuto, transforming into a hairy insect and exulting at seeing the world for the first time. Meanwhile, Aizen finally draws his blade against Hirako. Hirako warns Aizen that he is mistaken if he believes he is the only one with a Zanpakuto capable of manipulating the senses.
