Gin reflects on his apology to Rangiku and feels satisfied. Just as Aizen prepares to kill her, Ichigo appears carrying his unconscious father. Seeing Ichigo’s changed demeanor, Gin dies content. Ichigo demands they move the battle and throws Aizen far from the town. Aizen assumes Ichigo discarded spiritual pressure for physical strength. Their clash destroys the landscape. Aizen grows arrogant but is shocked when Ichigo stops his blade with a bare hand. He then casts the Kurohitsugi spell, which fails to harm Ichigo. This event occurs during the Arrancar: Downfall arc.
