Captains presumed dead return to battle reigai while Ichigo’s unstable powers force him to rest. Urahara and Kon investigate Inaba, discovering Soul Reaper Ouko Yushima separated spirit particles into modified souls Nozomi and Inaba. After defeating reigai versions of Soi Fon and Oomaeda, they find Yushima unresponsive in the Nest of Maggots, concluding he will never regain consciousness. Meanwhile, Ichigo’s hollowfied form takes over and escapes the building. This segment is part of the Gotei 13 Invading Army arc, specifically episode 21 out of 26.
