Renji Abarai remains imprisoned as his zanpakutou Zabimaru expresses a desire to fight Ichigo Kurosaki’s Zangetsu, though Renji insists Ichigo is no longer an adversary. Meanwhile, Yoruichi Shihouin successfully evades Byakuya Kuchiki and escapes with the unconscious Ichigo. Upon waking, she begins training him in bankai, the final zanpakutou stage that significantly boosts power. Elsewhere, Orihime Inoue and Uryuu Ishida attempt to reach Rukia Kuchiki’s cell using Soul Reaper attire, but their movements are closely monitored by twelfth division captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
