Hitsugaya and Matsumoto discover the Central 46 Chambers filled with dead occupants. Kira arrives, prompting a pursuit that halts when he reveals Hinamori has entered the chambers. Inside, Ichimaru leads Hinamori to Aizen, who impales her with his sword before departing with Ichimaru. Hitsugaya arrives and becomes enraged by Hinamori's condition, deploying his bankai against Aizen, who defeats him effortlessly. Unohana appears and denounces Aizen upon realizing he is a traitor. Aizen then reveals that every Soul Reaper has been hypnotized by his zanpakutou, except for the blind Tousen, who is his other accomplice.
