Byakuya unleashes his bankai, overwhelming Ichigo with millions of tiny blades. Ichigo counters by activating his own bankai, which grants him incredible speed. He successfully evades the attack and stabs Byakuya with his sword. Simultaneously, Toushirou Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto travel to the Central 46 Chambers, the highest authority in the Soul Society. This segment is part of the Soul Society: The Rescue arc, specifically episode 17 out of 22.
