Ep. 59: Ichigo defeats Byakuya in a final clash while the law prevails over personal bonds

Byakuya activates the second form of his bankai, summoning multiple rows of swords to continue the battle. Ichigo grows weaker due to the strain of his own bankai but is taken over by his inner hollow after being wounded, allowing him to overwhelm Byakuya. He soon suppresses this entity and regains control. The two fighters expend their remaining power in a final strike, resulting in Ichigo’s victory. Byakuya admits defeat, stating that he allowed Rukia’s execution because the law must be followed once a punishment is decided, yet acknowledges that Ichigo has convinced him otherwise. Meanwhile, Hitsugaya and Matsumoto arrive at the Central 46 Chambers. This segment is part of the Soul Society: The Rescue arc, specifically episode 18 out of 22.
