Satoru rescues Airi from a burning house and receives her phone, which contains a message from Sachiko. He contacts Sachiko's acquaintance, Sawada, who reveals that Sachiko knew the true kidnapper's identity before her death. Sawada connects Jun's framing to a previous kidnapping case, suggesting the killer is the same person. Meanwhile, Airi's mother swaps places with her to protect Satoru. Airi later informs Satoru about a suspicious man named Nishizumi linked to the fire. However, police arrive to arrest Satoru. As he is taken into custody, Satoru spots the man he saw leaving his house on the night of Sachiko's murder, confirming his suspicions about the culprit's presence.
