With Sachiko's assistance, Satoru successfully invites Kayo to the local science center. During their date, Satoru experiences a strong sense of déjà vu, fearing he is trapped in a repetitive loop. After March 1st, the date Kayo originally vanished, passes without incident, Satoru and Kayo celebrate their birthdays the following day. Satoru feels confident that he has altered the timeline. However, the subsequent day brings unexpected trouble when Kayo fails to appear at school, casting doubt on the success of his efforts.
