Ep. 4: Yamada gives Kyotaro homemade chocolate on Valentine's Day and they share a hug.

On Valentine's Day, Yamada enjoys receiving free chocolates from classmates. She and Kyotaro play a game called 'chocolate shogi' at the library, using it as a pretext to give him sweets. Later, Kyotaro gives Yamada a bike ride, and they stop at a convenience store for a snack. When chocolate gets on Kyotaro's face, Yamada shapes the smudge into a heart. They meet again in the evening, where Yamada visits Kyotaro's home under the guise of walking her dog. Kyotaro notes her strange behavior, and Yamada clarifies that she only gives heartfelt chocolates, not obligatory ones. She then presents him with a homemade Valentine's chocolate. Kyotaro understands the romantic intent, finds the treat delicious, and they hug. The following morning, the boys discuss White Day gifts, and Kyotaro admits he received chocolate. At the end of the school day, Yamada and Kyotaro walk home with their arms linked.
