Shikamaru intercepts Kawaki attempting to flee the hospital, clashing with Naruto regarding the boy's placement. At the Five Kage Summit, Gaara and Darui back Naruto's choice to keep Kawaki under his watch against Kara. Meanwhile, Konohamaru and Boruto visit Mugino, where Konohamaru retrieves a pet turtle and a letter from the Third Hokage. Kawaki makes another escape attempt but yields when Naruto consistently blocks his path. Family tensions rise when Kawaki accidentally shatters a vase Himawari crafted for Hinata's birthday. Witnessing her tears, he apologizes and finally introduces himself as Kawaki.
