Ep. 261: Kawaki Enrolls in the Ninja Academy to Protect Princess Kae Yukiwari
Kawaki and Himawari attend the academy entrance ceremony, where Iruka and Naruto welcome them. Kawaki secretly guards Kae Yukiwari, princess of the Land of Bamboo, to prevent assassins from forcing the king to choose another successor. Only Iruka knows this mission. After introductions, Himawari and her friends befriend Kae. Following Naruto’s advice, Kawaki invites Kae to eat taiyaki, causing a misunderstanding that he is hitting on her. His attempts fail until Himawari suggests discussing romance novels, which Kae loves. Kawaki and Kae connect on the rooftop. Eiki Fuuma, son of police chief Koutarou, tries to impress Kae by labeling Kawaki dangerous. He steals a summoning scroll to "protect" her but loses control. Kawaki defeats the summoning, earning Kae’s friendship. Later, Himawari overhears Kawaki reporting his mission progress to Naruto.
