Belgrieve is tasked with delivering a letter to Helvetica regarding road repairs in Turnera, prompting Angeline to demand he visit Orphen with her. In Bordeaux territory, Belgrieve identifies Saintess as a member of the Vienna Cult from Lucrecia city based on her attire. He meets Helvetica, accompanied by Angeline to prevent another marriage proposal. Helvetica agrees to help but notes that Count Malta of Hazel territory is withholding laborers due to his hatred of Bordeaux and erratic behavior following Count Bordeaux’s death. This shortage halts all regional repairs. Angeline insists Helvetica is not maternal enough to replace her mother. Ash, a Bordeaux swordsman, dismisses Belgrieve’s skills, leading Sasha to demand a duel. Malta plans to attack Bordeaux and seize power from Helvetica, disregarding Byaku’s advice to wait until after Belgrieve and Angeline depart.
