Ep. 1: Canaan protects Maria from assassins while CIA transports Alphard in Shanghai
Two years after the Shibuya Scramble events, Maria Oosawa and Minoru Minorikawa travel from Japan to Shanghai to secure the International Anti-Terrorism Conference. Canaan, a Middle Eastern mercenary, is also present after learning her rival Alphard Al Sheya is secretly detained by CIA Special Activities Division operatives in Karachi, Pakistan. Maria discovers a corpse infected with the Ua virus and is subsequently attacked by masked gunmen. Canaan intervenes, saving Maria and eliminating the attackers using her heightened synesthetic senses without causing public panic. Simultaneously, the CIA convoy transporting Alphard falls victim to an IED ambush in the city. The narrative intertwines these converging threats as the conference approaches, highlighting the dangerous intersection of international politics and covert warfare in the flood-colored metropolis.
