Alphard, accompanied by Liang Qi and Cummings, attends a public event for the NBCR International Anti-Terrorism Conference. The Daedala Corporation, a private military company with the Chinese government as its major client, assists security forces in protecting diplomats. Cummings serves as the public head of the company. In a public restroom, Canaan privately confronts Alphard, who taunts her about failing to protect Siam from death years ago. Alphard then fires her FN Five-Seven USG at the sprinklers, causing Canaan to flee the scene.
