Terry lands the lead role of Romeo, prompting envy from peers who accuse him of nepotism due to his mother Eleanor’s presence at the audition. Susanna defends him, and Terry confronts the director, who insists that only talent matters. Terry resolves to surpass his mother’s career and writes to Candy. Meanwhile, Merry Jane Nursing School students pass their exams, including Franny. Merry Jane awards diplomas to Candy, Natalie, Judy, and Eleanor, taking the latter three back while wishing Candy luck in Chicago with Albert. Alistear celebrates with a maiden biplane flight that suffers mechanical failure, forcing an emergency parachute jump. Upon returning to St. Joanna's Hospital, Candy discovers that Albert has vanished.
