Ep. 3: Casshern meets Akos, then encounters Friender before Akos dies in the sand.

After departing the abandoned robot town, Casshern encounters Akos, the first human he has met. Learning of the robot community's destruction, Akos follows Casshern, teaching him about human fragility while admitting he is fleeing his own problems. Casshern later faces a vengeful Friender and sustains injuries from the dog. Instead of fighting back, Casshern surrenders his life, prompting Friender to spare him and join his journey. Akos chooses to separate from the pair, telling Casshern he is not a Grim Reaper because he survived their time together. Shortly after this farewell, Akos succumbs to his long-standing illness and dies in the sand.
