Shin-chan notices a fire during his patrol and alerts the fire brigade, resulting in his photo alongside Misae appearing in the newspaper. His friends praise Masao as a hero following his appendix surgery. The next day, Masao feels neglected due to the lack of attention. Meanwhile, Shin-chan and Misae eat rice cakes to satisfy their hunger. Upon returning home, Hiroshi discovers that there is no food prepared for him.
