A power outage forces the family to share a candlelit dinner together. Meanwhile, substitute teacher Yumeo Takai manages the children with determination while Matsuzaka and Yoshinaga bicker over trivial matters. Hiroshi tends to an injured sparrow, bringing Shin-chan joy when the bird recovers and flies. However, this happiness turns to sorrow when the sparrow subsequently dies, leaving Shin-chan upset by the tragic outcome of the encounter.
