Seishu secures their first autumn prefectural tournament win. On a rest day, Aoba and Ko clean their rooms. Akane gifts Aoba a cushion and expresses admiration for her, revealing Aoba’s deceased older sister Wakaba. Aoba asks them to leave while she continues cleaning. Akaishi drops a glass at the Takigawa soba shop due to Akane’s resemblance to Wakaba, a fact confirmed by Senda. Azuma ignores Ko’s warnings and eats Aoba’s cooking at the Clover Cafe. He subsequently suffers acute appendicitis, missing the next match. Akane discovers Aoba is ineligible for tournament play and watches from the stands. Seishu loses 1 to 0 in a pitchers' duel after defensive errors allow the opposing team to advance bases via bunts and stolen base attempts.
