Upon landing, the group splits into three teams to infiltrate the Defense Base. Team 1 includes Jessica, Asuka, Yuuya, and Takuya. Team 2 consists of Ban, Hiro, Ran, and Professor Yamano. Team 3 comprises Jin, Ami, Kazuya, and Cobra. As the groups navigate three canyons, Otacross and Professor Ozora use a video game simulation to find the best infiltration route. Words learns that one platoon of LBXs has been eliminated and sends an army down the canyon to slow the intruders. Team 1 members are spotted and forced to fight. Team 2 spots the defense LBXs early and hides behind a rock, avoiding detection. Professor Yamano identifies a side canyon trail to reach the same location undetected. Professor Ozora finds a path to the command center and shares the data. Ban sends Elysion to disable fans before sneaking through the base. Hiro trips in the vehicle assembly area, creating noise. Other teams arrive to create a distraction, allowing Ban’s group to reach the command center entryway. There, they face Lt. Jack Gelato, leader of the Fire Sweets LBX squad, who uses Proto I, a creation of Professor Yamano, in a D-egg battle. Proto I features high speed and a High-Dimensional Multiple Joint System that allows it to flip when attacked from both sides.
