Promoter Tsunenaga Tamaki assigns Yoh to monitor Ganta, who receives a life-saving candy that creates a debt. The Wretched Egg, formerly the Red Man, escapes and confronts Ganta, who attempts to fight back using his abilities before losing consciousness. Upon waking, Ganta learns from witnesses that the Wretched Egg is confined in the G-Block. He and Shiro proceed toward that section, prompting Makina to initiate a facility lockdown and deploy a hostile security robot. Ganta and Yoh guide Shiro through a secret passage to reach the G-Block. While Shiro engages the robot, it is destroyed by another inmate possessing powers identical to Ganta’s.
