Speculation arises after Ryner and Milk are reported missing. Sion orders Claugh to lead a task force searching for an Alpha Stigma bearer in Estabul. In Gasark, Kiefer begins research on the Iino Doue but is interrupted by Riphal, who invites her to tea. Meanwhile, Tiir Rumibul, possessing the ability to consume flesh and absorb magic, decapitates Claugh and slaughters most of the pursuing unit. Claugh is evacuated for medical treatment. Elsewhere, Luke intervenes to stop Froaude from attacking, utilizing thread magic after learning that Froaude has captured Milk.
