Ferris and Sion contemplate their relationships with Ryner. Riphal unexpectedly asks Kiefer for her hand in marriage. Kuu arrives with a wounded Sui, who mentions Ryner’s name, troubling Kiefer. Calne Kaiwal provides Claugh with a written synopsis explaining why Ryner was sent to train in a military academy regimen. Tiir takes Ryner to a refuge for children possessing the Iino Doue and swears vengeance against humans who murder their kind. Ryner is reminded that he is kindhearted despite appearing monstrous, yet he still ponders why he and others like him are born. Later, Ryner encounters Luke, who was sent to assassinate him.
