Ep. 1: Misaki synchronizes with AI and transforms into a Ghoul during a Core expedition crisis.

A dangerous expedition enters the Core as a Ghoul materializes while the Quantum Barrier remains under repair. Prim requests a final physical from Misaki, but her brainwaves instead synchronize with an unknown artificial intelligence system. She appears to enter her Rampart Armor alongside Kiri, Kotoko, and Lyar, who alters the battle plan. Three pilots are dispatched, but Misaki remains unresponsive while Prim investigates. During the ensuing combat, Kotoko is destroyed though her mind survives, and Lyar and Kiri are disabled. Misaki eventually joins the fight to rescue them but is captured. Facing death, she panics and transforms into a Ghoul-like entity, grappling with the enemy until both are annihilated in a burst of light. On the ship, Prim and Jean-Luc monitor the exhausted, wire-connected Misaki in a chamber.
