The narrative shifts back two months, showing four cadets completing their training within the Sol system while Misaki struggles to keep pace. As the cadets and crew prepare for the Inflation Drive transit to Watcher's Nest, a Ghoul infiltrates the vessel and merges with it. While the crew remains unconscious, Misaki reacts violently, triggering a transformation that allows her to grapple with the Ghoul. This struggle provides sufficient time for the Quantum Barrier to purge the entity from the ship. Misaki is left naked and confused, her uniform destroyed during the fight. Lyar discovers her in this state after the ship is boarded, though subsequent events imply she conceals this incident.
