Prim suggests the cadets take their first day off. During a tour of the residential area, Misaki finds a young mute girl drawing a life-sized Ghoul mural in an alley, noting her trauma from a past incident. Simultaneously, a Ghoul materializes within the Core. Although contained, it projects a Specular Image that attacks both Misaki and the girl. Misaki nearly transforms again but is stopped by the girl's screams. The Quantum Barrier forces the Ghoul away. Lyar and Kotoko manage the cleanup, remove the girl, and once again swear Misaki to secrecy regarding the incident.
