Ep. 4: Senku builds a steam locomotive while Chrome is captured and interrogated by Tsukasa.

Nikki and Senku consider recruiting members from Tsukasa's Empire. Chrome is captured by Ukyo and taken to Tsukasa's headquarters, where he is dangled over a waterfall during interrogation. Tsukasa pressures Chrome to betray Senku and the village in exchange for their safety and Senku's head. Ukyo lies to Tsukasa, claiming he found Chrome scouting caves. Meanwhile, Magma returns to Ishigami Village, where Kaseki completes a wheel. Senku designs a steam engine vehicle and uses beeswax to create molds for pistons and other components. Back at the village, Senku finishes constructing the locomotive. Chrome declares his intention to teach Tsukasa about the wonders of science. The narrative contrasts the technological advancements at the village with the tension surrounding Chrome's captivity and Tsukasa's demands.
