Before the tournament finals, Goku and Krillin reunite with Bulma, Oolong, and Puar. Master Roshi arrives late, claiming he missed the preliminaries due to a long bathroom line. As contestants enter the arena, Goku and Krillin depart, leaving Master Roshi to disappear mysteriously. The quarterfinal matchups are determined by drawing numbers. Krillin faces Bacterian in the first match, a giant whose overwhelming stench initially paralyzes him. Goku reminds Krillin that he lacks a nose, allowing him to recover and defeat his opponent. Krillin advances to the semifinals. Meanwhile, Yamcha is scheduled to fight Jackie Chun in the second match, and Goku is set for the fourth bout.
