Goku faces Nam in the semifinal match, attempting to use a tornado attack to force him out of the ring, but becomes dizzy before completing the move. Nam retaliates with an aerial strike intended to cause unconsciousness, yet Goku recovers, mimics Nam’s flight, and kicks him out of the ring. After Nam prepares to leave, Jackie Chun intervenes and provides a dyno capsule for storage. When Nam questions how Jackie knew about his water issue, Jackie claims to have read his mind. Nam deduces that Jackie Chun is actually Master Roshi, who explains he is competing undercover to ensure Goku and Krillin do not become complacent after winning the tournament. To maintain the ruse, Nam disguises himself as Master Roshi in the crowd, successfully convincing Yamcha that Jackie Chun is not the old master.
