Ep. 83: Goku Saves Konkichi and Misses Flight to Papaya Island Tournament

Three years before the World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku intervenes when three men assault Konkichi. Grateful, Konkichi escorts Goku to the airport for Papaya Island, but Goku lacks funds. They visit a carnival to earn money for tickets. While Goku speaks with Fortuneteller Baba, Konkichi is recaptured by the same thugs and coerced into robbing a bank. After being caught, Konkichi confesses his criminal past to Goku and expresses a desire to reform. Baba reveals the thugs' location, allowing Goku to apprehend them and deliver them to jail. However, Goku misses his scheduled flight. Determined to reach the tournament site, he chooses to swim to Papaya Island instead.
