Goku travels to train with Master Chin, who is distracted by Rising Dragon and his brother Sky Dragon. Sky Dragon halts Rising Dragon, allowing Chin to accept Goku’s request despite his son Shoken’s anxiety. Goku notices Chin’s poor health and learns about the King's Tournament, securing medicine for him while avoiding conflict with the Dragon brothers. Sky Dragon intimidates his students during this time. Goku offers to replace Chin in the tournament. Shoken, driven by jealousy, laces Goku’s breakfast with laxatives. During the match, Goku endures the drug’s effects and defeats Sky Dragon. The Dragon brothers and their students subsequently respect Chin’s teachings, and Goku continues his journey.
