The Z Fighters wait on an island for the androids, but they remain hidden. Yajirobe delivers Senzu beans from Korin, only for his ship to be shot down immediately after he leaves. The androids descend into a nearby city, prompting Gohan to rescue Yajirobe while the others search for the enemies. Yamcha becomes the first victim when Android #20 absorbs his energy and impales him. The remaining Z Fighters arrive just in time to save him. After significant destruction to the city, Goku persuades the androids to relocate for the battle.
