Goku fights Buu but finds his attacks ineffective due to exhaustion. He offers Vegeta a turn, but Vegeta refuses, citing Buu's overwhelming power. Goku reveals he intentionally prolonged the battle to let Vegeta fight, leaving him drained. Vegeta is horrified by this realization. Goku asks for one uninterrupted minute to power up, warning that Vegeta will cease to exist if he dies while Goku is already dead. Vegeta reluctantly agrees, knowing survival is unlikely. He engages Buu, enduring severe beatings and rising repeatedly despite the pain. Buu eventually wraps his arm around Vegeta's neck to choke him. Goku fails to generate the necessary power within the allotted time, leaving the situation dire.
