Ep. 9: Seiji’s pursuit of the redheaded girl leads to conflict with Shizuo and police custody.
Seiji and a redheaded girl are in a park when she drops his phone into a fountain. Namie, unable to reach him, consults Izaya about their past with their uncle. She recalls moving a head from her uncle’s study to her pharmaceutical company, which was subsequently stolen. Seiji calls Namie claiming he killed Mika, who discovered the theft. Izaya warns that Seiji will soon be arrested. The girl receives a message about being pursued and flees with Seiji. They encounter Celty and Shizuo, whom Seiji stabs before continuing his chase. Mikado assists the girl, who is revealed to be Mika with amnesia, in escaping. Shizuo catches Seiji, leaving him bruised, and the police eventually apprehend him. Namie admits she created the girl from Mika’s body for Seiji and orders her bodyguards to retrieve her, using deadly force if necessary.
