Yu resolves his feelings for Yuko but declines Nagi's advances. Kuze plays the violin, causing Yuko to weep from the beauty of the music and flee to the school rooftop. Yu pursues her and declares his complete devotion. Yuko then discloses a long-hidden secret: Akira has subjected her to physical and sexual abuse for years. She suggests that this tragedy might have been prevented if Yu had expressed his desire for a younger sister during their time together at the orphanage.
