In the past, Yu and Yuko flee together and settle while Yu works. Yu encounters Akira, stays out late reflecting on their conversation, and worries Yuko, who searches for him. Yuko meets Akira, who asks if she wants to go home, and she agrees. In the present, Yu and Nagi attempt to reason with Kuze, but his words anger them. Nagi informs Mizuki that she is likely the only person remaining who can save Kuze from his current path.
