Chihiro completes her novel and asks Renji to read it while she avoids his presence. Renji suggests a date, which Chihiro accepts under the condition that they remain lovers for only one day. Following their outing, Renji confesses his love again on the school rooftop, leading to intimacy between them. That night, Chihiro hands him the manuscript and waits on the roof. Upon reading the bleak conclusion, Renji rushes to the balcony to find her. Instead of reconciling, Chihiro declares they must break up while she still loves him deeply. She throws her diary pages detailing their relationship into the air, effectively forcing Renji to end their romance.
