Miyako throws her cell phone into a fountain after Hiro stands her up, preventing his calls. She later uses a public phone to confirm Kei lied about her disappearing from Hiro's heart. Meanwhile, Renji and Chihiro continue their novel, with Chihiro pushing herself through stress and lack of sleep to prolong memories. She eventually collapses and remains unconscious for over thirteen hours. Upon waking, she is frantic, confused about why she has aged and what happened to her left eye. Renji witnesses her distress as she struggles to understand her physical changes and the events that transpired during her unconscious state.
