Kyosuke confronts Hiro regarding his past actions with Kei, criticizing him for always doing things halfway. Meanwhile, Miyako calls Hiro to explain that being with him is too painful because she fears being forgotten. Hiro visits Kei and reaches an understanding with her, despite his feelings for Miyako. Before leaving town, Miyako calls Hiro one last time. The call cuts out at a critical moment, prompting Hiro to rush out on his bike. He manages to find her at a public telephone booth near a church, where they share a kiss.
