Ep. 2: Rin's Disappointment and Shirō's Fatal Encounter with Lancer

Following a dream about her father, Rin regrets failing to summon a Saber-class Servant and questions Archer about his identity, though he has no memory. At school, Shirō learns from Ayako Mitsuzuri that Shinji has become aggressive after Rin rejected him. Shinji asks Shirō to clean the kyūdō dojo, which Shirō accepts. That night, Rin and Archer fight a Lancer-class Servant while Shirō watches. Lancer spots Shirō, pursues him, and kills him before fleeing. Rin finds the body and breaks the Holy Grail War rule regarding innocent witnesses by reviving Shirō with a magical jewel. When Lancer returns to finish the job at Shirō's home, Shirō accidentally summons Saber, the most powerful Servant, and is struck by her beauty.
