Shinji justifies the school barrier as defense against Rin and denies involvement in Mitsuzuri's attack, revealing the Matō family's mage history. He offers an alliance due to his own lack of experience, but Shirō declines. Shirō then shares Shinji's intelligence about a witch Master at Ryuudou Temple with Rin and Saber. Saber demands an immediate strike, but Shirō and Rin prioritize Illyasviel and Berserker instead. Rin moves in with Shirō to improve communication, surprising Sakura and Taiga. Despite their disagreement over strategy, Saber ultimately disobeys Shirō and proceeds to Ryuudou Temple alone to confront the Master.
