The Nautilus travels to the underwater graveyard of Atlantis to honor fallen comrades. Nadia questions why she was chosen to wield the Blue Water. Jean learns from Sonar Officer Eiko that her French ship was sunk by the Garfish, whose captain is his missing father. Traumatized, Jean discards his wrench and rejects invention due to technology's danger. Nadia feels sad and cheers him up by recalling their promise made in France. The episode concludes with Fait and his comrades being laid to rest in the soil, while Nadia cries on Jean's shoulder.
