Ep. 24: Miaka's wishes fail as Chiriko reveals his true identity during the Suzaku summoning ritual.
Aired on September 14, 1995

The Suzaku summoning ceremony begins with Miaka making three wishes, but the ritual fails. Chiriko plays a flute that causes everyone pain, revealing himself as Amiboshi of the Seriyuu Seven. Tasuki and Tamahome chase him to a river where he falls after stepping on a crumbling stone. Miaka saves his flute, but Amiboshi lets go and disappears into the water. The group returns to the castle with only the flute. They discover the real Chiriko is a thirteen-year-old boy who explains how he saved them. The celestial warriors attempt to summon Suzaku again but fail. Taiitsukun appears and informs them of an alternative method to summon the guardian.
