Fujita and Sara vacation in Hawaii, meeting painter Stanley Capone and encountering Mitamura. Sara feels jealous of Fujita’s interaction with Mitamura. She buys an old kaleidoscope in Aozora City, which Fujita suspects is a Brewster's kaleidoscope. To gain access to the item, Mitamura challenges Sara to a half marathon. During the race, Sara’s anger fades. Later, while on a whale-watching cruise, she accidentally drops the kaleidoscope overboard and becomes sad. Mitamura advises Fujita to comfort Sara, leading them to visit an observatory at Mauna Kea to view the night sky.
