Cavalcanti pursues Eugénie as Baron Danglars attempts to prevent Albert from attending her concert. With assistance from Debray, Albert successfully attends the event, leading both he and Eugénie to recognize their genuine romantic feelings for one another. Following the performance, Crown Prosecutor Villefort attempts to arrest the Count of Monte Cristo.
