Ep. 75: The Odd Jobs Review Past Episodes After Discovering They Squandered Half Their Budget
Aired on September 27, 2007Filler

Despite the threat of cancellation, Gintama enters its second year. Gintoki attributes their survival to manipulation, but Shinpachi reveals this strategy nearly ended the series. The Odd Jobs continue their banter until they uncover a shocking financial reality: they have already spent half a year’s production budget on the episodes aired so far. To address this, they decide to review the previous 75 episodes. However, the opening theme unexpectedly becomes Otsu’s “Your Mother is a XX.” Believing that changing the theme song is a poor decision, they instead produce a version of the opening sequence featuring Prince Hata. This meta-commentary highlights the financial pressures and creative choices made during the show's production history.
