Katsura attempts to report shogunate activities to Joi faction members at a salon, but they ignore him to discuss a popular drama. Angry at their indifference, he leaves and heads to a video rental store. The employee requests a driver's license for identification, which Katsura cannot provide due to his fugitive status. Meanwhile, Gintoki attends driving school lessons after his license was suspended. During a joint exercise with other students, Gintoki takes the passenger seat and is shocked to discover Katsura sitting in the driver's seat, leading to an unexpected reunion between the two.
