Inumaru dreams of being struck by a golf club before waking at Oyashirazu. He recounts his troubles to a soba vendor, noting Maroko’s departure, his father’s disappearance, and his mother’s legal issues. Realizing the conversation was a dream, he finds himself in a truck. He insists on stopping to follow a snow path toward the Yomota apartment in Tokyo. There, he spots the Kodak blimp, the time machine Maroko used. He pursues the vehicle through the snow, growing increasingly exhausted until he collapses. A yellow butterfly appears briefly before flying away. As the episode concludes, Inumaru utters Maroko’s name while lying in the snow.
